Hey everone. Has anybody installed a extended swim platform to their boat? I have a 200 horizon and have 2 small children, and thoght that the extra room would be nice/

Well, no extended swim platform here, but recent model 200s (like mine)do have integral swim platforms. Here's a stock photo from the FW site:



Having used it for a few months now, I am a fan. Great for swiming, deploying and retrieving skiiers, tubers, etc. Most of the water from wet passengers drips off the platform rather than ending up in the bilge. I'd say it'd be a great addition.

I have a 200 horizon and it has a small platform now but would like one larger so I don't have to worry about the kids jumping off the back and possibly hitting the outdrive. plus would be nice for more room getting in and out of the water.

My boat isn't included in that line up. I guess I will have to get a custom one if I end up putting a platform on the boat.

Installed one myself on our 210. Bought it from the dealer for just over $1k.
There were two models. The one I bought installs just under the bumper line. The other style installs over the built in. I didn't want to cover up the cooler access. The ladder just transferred over to the swim platform.
It adds a lot of room.
The kids jump off it and have additional room to board. It's also great to tie down a large inflatable without encroaching into the passenger area.

how difficult was it installing? I'm preety good with my hands and thought about installing it myself as well. I can buy one for around 1200.00 or I can buy it and have it installed for around 1700.00..

Not that bad. The hardest part is drilling that first hole. I had the whole thing supported on tall saw horses with shims to position it just right. First holes where the ones through the transom for the 5 large bolts. Once drilled through the bolts go in from the outside but put lots of calking first to prevent any moisture from getting through. Then the heads are held by the small brackets. It's a long reach but you have to find the bolts on the inside, put the large washer on, then the locknut. I slowly tightened each one a little at a time.
Once that's done, the braces are next. This took a little while to locate both ends for best fit, and so the left and right would be symetrical about the boats center. Be carefull to use the right screws going up into the platform. Too long and they could stick through. Oh yeah, I pre-drilled for the screws and used plenty of caulk here too. I think the stuff I used was called Boaters Life Caulk.
Finally, the boarding ladder gets transfered to the new location. I spent some time tracking down all the stainless hardware I would need. The kit came with a lot of it but many of the smaller screws were missing. My dealer ordered it from the factory and claims they inspected it. When I picked it up the box was open, everything was hanging out, and there were no instructions. When I was part way finished I got the idea to ask Four Winns for the instructions. They just sent me to the link on their website to download a pdf.

I have a 2001 210 so it looks quite a bit like the picture above with the built in platform, but the extension adds so much more room. Keeps the kids away from the prop too.
Fairly straight forward if you use your head.... and double check every measurement before you drill.
