Hi all.
Are there any Tazzie FW owners (or any others) who boat around the D'entecasteaux Channel, Great Bay, Huon River areas. ?
Looking at taking the boat over in Feb for a week. Would like to know any handy info on marinas, ramps, pubs etc.
Will also be cruising up the Derwent.

Cheers

Graham

How much are they charging you to take to boat over on the ferry Graham? I got a quote recently to take my caravan and it was $2000 return including cabins both ways - about double what I was expecting. Seriously rethinking the need to visit Tasmania!!

Hi Alec. Haven't checked that out yet. If it's $2,000 I won't bother. I thought it would be a few hundred. My wife is going to fly (doesn't like the ferry) and I'll do a day time trip so won't need a cabin. Will check it out tonight and let you know.

Cheers

Hi Alec. You were right. I assume the boat and trailer is about 6.5m so if we both travel on the daytime crossing in recliners it will cost around $1,780 plus DRINKS. Would be $2,000ish with a cabin. Bit more than I thought.! Oh well, shit happens.
Probably will still go. Have heard it's good boating.

Wow.
You could spend a number of days on someone elses boat in Thailand for that money!
Tourism in this country sucks! :x
