I have a 2002 Horizon 190, Volvo Penta 5.0GL, SX stern drive. Won't crank to start after it sits in the water overnight. You can jump the starter and fires right up...drive it for 5 minutes and then cranks fine the rest of the day. I have docked it in the water with the trim all the way up, all the way down and in about every other position you can dream of...still won't crank after sitting overnight. I have replaced the ignition switch, neutral switch and starter. Any ideas? Thanks for your input. |

Battery losing charge over night, how old is it? Might be time for a new one. |

Starter solenoid or assist solenoid if it has one. |

Leaking bellows. Starter is the first to get wet. |

Didn't see you changed starter, did you check batt ground csble that goes to ground stud on engine bell housing? Clean, not corroded? What about all the wire terminals on the starter? All clean not corroded? If the manifold drain on the side with the starter leaks it will rust up those terminals fast and cause your problem. |
