I have a 2007 240 Horizon. The gas signal sender went bad and I need to replace it. When i removed the hatch to get into the gas tank area, the sender is located under the beam between the back seat and engine compartment. I can angle it out most of the way but can not entirely remove. And secret as to how to remove this sender and replace. Do I need to slide the tank into the engine compartment, which would involve some work. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Carmen |

Just curious.........could you leave the old sending unit in place and install a new one in a more convenient location? |

Not really. Would not want to be cutting another access hole in the gas tank. Hoping there was a trick to this madness. |

Can someone tell me what a good replacement is for a faulty gas sending unit. I have removed the unit and it tests fine out of the tank. Can make the gauge move with raising and lowering the float. But in the tank, it will only show 1/4 full in a 3/4 full tank. Tested the float in a bucket of water, and it works fine. Can't figure it out. Any suggestions? |

My boat's went bad by just the act of taking it out to flush the gas tank, that fragile/old (2003 boat). The OEM in my boat is a POS $20 seachoice unit. They're all calibrated to 33-240 ohm. Moeller makes a reed switch style one for $50 that would be more accurate. Might be what I repalce it with. All you need to know is your tank depth. |
