So I just got my boat back last week from the upholstery shop. I was getting it ready today for a trip to Lake Mead, NV. Everything works fine except now it wont even turn over. I have power to all the gauges and radio, but when I turn the key the engine wont even turn over. I checked all the fuses one by one and they are all fine. The boat does have the safety button feature, where if the button is released the engine dies. The button isn't released. Any ideas on the problem? I think I'm gonna be taking it down to my boat mechanic soon, just wanted to hear from other more experienced boat owners. Thanks for your time.

Did you check the circuit breakers? And can you see the wires to the ignition switch?

Ya I seen the ignition switch wiring, its all in good shape and nothing is loose, broken, etc. I too thought the circuit breakers might be bad, but my mechanic thinks that when they were installing the throttle control lever panel back into the boat they messed up the wiring behind it. Not sure, but I'll have him look at it when I take it in. It would be nice if it was just a simple circuit breaker, they're only a few bucks to replace.

Yes,

It could be the switch on the throttle mechanism, designed to stop the engine being turned over when the drive /engine is in gear.

Where was the upholstery shop working? Were they anywhere near the Throttle Control, the Safety Button, the Instrument Panel, or any of the wiring run down the starboard side from the controls back to the engine?

Have you checked the breaker back by the transom. May have a push button back by the battery compartment.

Is the engine in gear? You said you checked the safety cut off switch. Did they have to remove the batterers? If so, recheck that EVERY thing was reconnected & done right.
