I have a 2005 H250 with 5.7 Volvo Penta DP after a loosing power a couple of times it finally died and I needed to be towed. The local marina not a VP dealer put a new fuel pump in at the cost of $950. With new fuel pump it ran good for one day then next day started to loose power. It will start but it shakes and squeals like crazy. The last time I used it I kept pumping the throttle and some made it back to marina. They have had if for three weeks with no answer. I think that I’m going to pick it up with trailer and take to a Volvo Penta dealer. Someone has mentioned to me that maybe the fuel pump is over heating. Any experiences? I would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

I assume that your engine is fuel injected. Did you inspect the old fuel pump assembly? Was there paint peeling from it? Might want to check your fuel pressure regulator screen for debris. There is also a Volvo SB that says to replace the screen with an e-clip. Your fuel injectors might need cleaning as well.
