My Bimini front frame snapped. Has anyone had this happen and what kind of repair did you make? I was thinking of putting a 1/2 inch stainless steel insert into the frame and securing the frame with either self tapping screws or a rivot...but can you still get the frame and is this a waist of time? I have a 2005 230 Horizon and it is a doll of a boat, lots of fun.

Honestly the bimini on the '05 230 is one of the few items that is a pain. They re-designed the support system on the '06 (I think) or '07 (for sure) and if mine broke I'd change it to that design. The '05 design is terrific as far as coverage goes - it's huge - but it shouldn't be a 2-person job to raise and lower it.
