Hi all,
Just after some more advice prior to purchasing my boat.
Apart from the length, what is the difference between the H210 & the H220?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Craig

The seat layout. The H200 has two swivel front seats and the H210 has a passenger convertible seat back that's connected to the back benches that turns into a rear facing lounge. All in all a better layout on the H210.

Bayboater, it depends on the year and whether or not it's an SS. We assume these are 2014? The biggest trend I am seeing lately is going from forward-facing seats to "inward" facing ( I think of it as community seating) as the size increases.
Over the last few years the biggest difference I have seen is rear boarding. 210/200 being on the Right side, 220 being in the middle. You will have variations in seating arrangements and available power plants, but most of that will be dependent on options, and less on model/size. A 210 should have a bow ladder, while a 200 probably does not.

IMO the 200 to the 230 has little difference in size (seating capacity), but more difference in available options. It would be important determining what your use would be (cruising, or watersports), will it be on a lift, or trailered each outing, and so on. We will need more information to help you in your decision.

The approximate year that I am looking at is around 2006.
Not looking at the 200, just the 210 & 220.

Further information would be appreciated.

Cheers, Craig

Search my post's from the 2007 time frame. I did lots of research and posted my results after buying my '07 SS.

I hope that helps.

Hi Walt,
Are you able to send me a link to those earlier posts?
The info that I am interested in is towing weights, ride, room, and any other differences between the two.
Back here is Oz, there seems to be a few 210's for sale and virtually no 220's.

Cheers, Craig

Thanks Lib for the link... I couldn't find it to save my life!

Here's one comparing 210SS's w/ different power plants too....
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1328&start=30

Weight- I know my 210 w/ tower and trailer is about 4700# going into the water. I believe there is more than 1ft difference between the 210 and 220, and substantial weight difference too.
Seating- I would say 6 are very comfortable, and I have had up to 2 boarding w/ 7 in the boat without trouble. Seating only seems to be an issue with peeps getting in and out while inflating tubes. I expect the 220 would be about the same.
Ride- I tend to go to VERY calm waters since I mostly board, however I have had mine out in about 2-3 ft waves. Not fun, but doable w/ a bow cover on. I don't think the 220 would be much different.

I am extremely happy with my 210. It was also the biggest I could tow, or fit in my driveway.

General rule regarding resale value.... Get the biggest boat you can afford/tow w/ the biggest engine that will fit.

I also suggest you bring the fam along for the test drive plus any water toys you would have. This gives you a better idea of where everything would fit, and how it would fit into your life. I brought my wakeboard along for mine. Didn't ride it, but found it was difficult to fit in the ski locker, hence got one with a tower.

Best of luck on your purchase! I don't think you will be disappointed either way.

I agree with most of the comments above (and in the additional threads). I think the practical difference between the two is seating. Do you want the wrap-around seating or not? The H210 has a back bench and the H220 has the U-shape seating. The H220 is a bit more than a foot longer and about ~500lbs heavier (depending on options and engine size).

I have the U-shape seating and I love it. I also like the center walk-through on the sunpad - seems to cause less traffic issues within the boat. It really comes down to personal preference though.

Good luck - and please post pics!

U-shape seating is amazing. I wish my 215 had it, the 235 does but too big for HOA/slip limits :(

One more H220 (or in my case 210 Horizon, same boat) perspective. I could not be happier with mine. I love the U-shaped seating and walk through. The sunpad reclines into two loungers which are great. Or just leave them folded up for a nice aft facing seat while hanging in the cove listening to tunes. The lockers on each side of the sunpad are great too! The step from the swim platform up to the walk through is very small making re-boarding a breeze for anyone. The down side of that is that the swim platform is a little too close to the sunpad seat when boarding up. If my feet were lower it would be a more natural seated position for getting into bindings. Overall I love the boat. Over the winter, I am always "shopping" for boats just to pass the time. I have yet to find a used boat with a reasonable price that I would purchase over what I have already.

I said it once and I'll say it again... the 2005 era FW's are the golden years of design.

Hey guys,
Thanks so much for your advice.
At this stage, I will be going for the 220 with a minimum of 300Hp. Will post some pics once I have found one.
BTW: Looks like I have sold my boat. Now I will have the cash to do some serious hunting......

Thanks again, Craig

Good luck hunting!!!

If you're a little mechanically inclined don't rule out a boat powered by a 5.7GL if it's a few grand cheaper. A new intake/carb/cam, about $1000 in parts, brings it around the 350hp mark.
