Folks, as the second owner of a pristine '05 210 Horizon, I'd like to get the bow filler cushions. Now, I've already gone to the FW's website for parts, gotten the part numbers and called the local FW's dealer. All said and done for the bottom supports & the cushions themselves are $235, not including shipping. Parts guy says that they are prepaid only, and you're stuck with what you get, meaning the color might be off from what I have (not worry about fading, as my boat's former owner used it once a year and kept it indoors in a heated garage the rest of the year).

So, two schools of thought. Has anyone ordered any 'accessories' like these from FW's and how have they come out as far as matching? Secondly, I could just order the supports from FW's and have the cushions made locally as suggested, but I'd need some dimensions from someone who has a set.

Any help out there, as I prepare for the warm weather while watching yet another snowstorm?

I would get the hardware, and have the cushions made locally. They should be able to dye to match any level of fade. I did the same on my 18' Maxum, and was ready to get the whole boat re-done because I was so impressed with that one cushion. That being said the one cushion was $150 in 2003-ish, so don't expect to really "save" any money, other than getting it done in the winter while the shop business is slow.

While you are at it, I also recommend getting snap-down carpet to use in place of the boarding cushions (bow center and stbd rear). This has been a big saver in tracking, and ultimately saving the cushions from tears.

What color is your vinyl? Mine is white(ish) and my bow fillers don't really match perfectly anymore since I rarely use them....

The cost seems surprisingly reasonable from FW, so ultimately, I guess the question is how much you care if they are a perfect match.

Good luck!

Here are some pics of the bow filler cushions from my 210. There are two cushions. The front one is about 17" at the base, 16" from to the point, and 3.5" thick.

Here is the other cushion. It is about 17" wide where it meets the front cushion. About 21.5" wide at it's widest point. About 16" long and again 3.5" thick.

If you can get into the boat, maybe you want to make a cardboard template that fits into the bow space and take that to a vinyl shop to get a cushion made. Because of the irregular shape, it will be tough to take just measurements to the shop.

Wow, thank you all for the quick replies. To start with one of the replies, the price for the cushions are $66 forward rounded front and the rear filler is $53. Secondly, yes, mine are a off whitish color too, not really a beige, but not a bright white either. And for the third response, thanks for the pics and measurements. Fortunately I was able to find some indoor winter parking in a deep enough garage to park it in, which means no shrink wrap, but just not easy to access to climb in anytime and do the measuring and so on.

Just a thought, but does your boat have an accent color? Like a blue/tan/red/black stripe down the side? If so, you could get the fill in cushions in THAT color, to kinda add some flair/style. That way you wouldn't have to worry about "matching" the white.

True, yes it does have a black strip, but you know what happens to black in the sun? That'll really defeat the purpose of it, as it'll keep people off of it, but good thought.

Lcapt.,
I've got a 180 with the fill in cushions. I ordered them from F.W. when the boat was pretty new and they matched perfectly. One thing though, the bases are cut a little on the small side and have slipped off the edges from time to time. The bases are just marine ply so I would think that if you made templates for a perfect fit then had them covered at a local shop with what ever floats your boat (pun intended), you would know up front what you are getting and they fit like you want. I never take mine out, the admiral loves them and it makes for some storage under them, unless the dog is in there.
