Pulling towables

So I'm a newbie when it comes to the ins and outs of boating. When pulling tubes and such, is it ok to pull from the eye right there behind the sun pad? Or do I need to buy a harness deal to pull from the 2 d rings on the transom?

That eye is designed to be used for towing so feel free to tie a rope to it.

If you're after some really good "air" and you also have a wakeboard tower, go ahead and attach the inflatable rope to the top of the tower then sit back and watch the "show".

...No 8 yr old boys were harmed during this "test"...

(my son told me it was the closest thing to flying....BTW...he's 8...LOL...I'll get him on video next time...)

DO NOT use the 2 "D" rings, they are for tie down to trailer only, not designed for towing. Like ric said, the eye ring is for towing. Have fun!

Mine has two sets of those d-rings. One right next to the out drive which are the ones I've been using for tying to the trailer. An then there is another set that would be above the water line closer to the outside of the boat. My question then is what are those two for?

Don't tie off to tower for inner tubes...the drag force is too much...tower is for skis, wake boards, knee boards.

Use tow ring for tubes, which is the center mounted ring you described. I only use outer D rings if in bind and have to tow a fellow boater in.....only once with this boat

The tow ring above the swim platform is designed for pulling / towing etc.

The D rings should be strong enough to lift the boat off the trailer. These are often used during manufacture to move the boat arround but I would still not use them as they are too low / too close to the out drive.

Towing large inflatable toys from the tower out huge strain on the tower so make sure it is very well reinforced. Then hope that you are not turning when the towable toy digs in as it could flip your boat.

Great point there. OP, If you are new to pulling a tube, they can be tricky especially when starting off. If you start to slow, they will submarine. I'd get a good tube (I like the O'Brien Screamer line), tell riders to lean toward the back of the tube, and give enough juice to get the tube on plane as fast as possible. You can then let off the acceleration once the tube is at about 10 mph and let the boat plane out more slowly after that.

Those are also used for the ski pulley systems out there. You hook each end to the hooks and a floating pulley moves back and forth on the cable. You tie your tow rope to the pulley.
