Hi guys so I've been having issues with my gas gauge, it would randomly drop to empty and the fuel light would come on. It would do this for about 30 seconds sometimes longer and then back to normal until it felt like doing it again. I replaced the fuel sending unit and thought the problem was fixed, today I filled up the boat with fuel and turned the key on to make sure everything was ready for a weekend on the water. The fuel gauge started to climb and then fuel light came on and the needle started to drop to empty this time I had to turn ignition on and off about 30 times for it to start working again and now it's all back to normal
I have checked connectors and used some electrical grease for better contact

Any ideas on what this could be?

Dash is a vdo but all other gauges work fine

Cut the connectors off. Install new ones. I just got done fighting this battle.
