I have a brand new 2013 H200, love the boat, have some minor warrany issues. Last night my wife was loading the boat on the trailer and I noticed one of the trailer bunks floating in the water, turns out a nut fell off on a brand new trailer... When I got home I went to go put a nut on it and then tighten down the other nuts. When I was at the back of the boat I noticed big 3 inch crack that feathered out about a few more inches. The crack starts on the both of the hull about 2 feet from the center of the boat. The crack is on the hull in the back where it makes the turn from flat to vertical. I decided to check the other side and found the saem crack on the other side. The crack is thicker then my finger nail. Its not taking on water, we were out on the water for a few hours with no issues. I am taking the boat into the dealer today but would like to know if anyone has heard of this. Its pretty dissappointing to have a brnad new boat with 30 hours on it and then to see this failure. Thanks |

Unfortunately there's always going to be some "new boat blues" that need working out. I don't care what brand boat you buy or how much you spend, there will be issues at first. Never heard of cracks though. Oh well, you have a hull warranty for a reason they'll sort it out. |

A crack there that is thicker than your fingernail sound like more than just a hairline crack in the gelcoat. I would definitely get that checked out under warrantee. If your dealer says it is OK, I would get another opinion from another dealer, or a boat surveyor or marine insurance adjustor. |

Yeah I agree its not just the gel coat, The one side is a thick crack, the other looks like gel coat. I am taking it in today to the dealer (which unfortunately I have many concerns with quality of customer service, not sending plates on time, late loan issues, etc etc). Do you think there is something they can do temporarily this week so I can use the boat for my week vacation next week and then take it in later for a more permanent fix? |

I'm curious if you made sure the trailer bunk that you saw was loose was correctly positioned and properly supporting the hull before you pulled the boat home? ....Be careful how you answer that... I don't understand your description of where the crack is. But it sounds like it could be related to the bunk on the trailer being out of position and improperly supporting the hull. Also, you didn't specify...is the trailer the FW factory built one? |

What a bummer to have cracks on your new boat. Can you post photos? |

The bunk was attached on the back of the trailer and the not for the bolt was missing on the front of the bunk so i got in the water and under the trailer and held down the bolt of the bunk through the trailer mount while my wife loaded the boat. trust me not so fun.... The trailer is a factory FW trailer. I don't know how to post photos, Does this forum allow attachements? |

That doesn't sound fun at all. So do you think the damage is at all related to the loose bunk? Or is the damage more towards the rear? This forum doesn't allow attachments. You need to host the pictures on a 3rd party site....like photobucket. |

yeah I am not sure of what caused it, I am new to this. I talked to Four Winns and the dealer, they have the pics of the crack. I am taking the boat in this evening for them to look at it. My biggest concern is if this boat is usable or not. I can definitely tell you that Four Winns customer service is incredible and they were fully supportive and concerned, the dealer however, not so much. I am worried about that. |

Four Winns will honor their warranty no questions asked don't worry about that part. If you don't like that dealer, just find another. You have no ties to the one you're going to currently. |

@ric, I agree I can take it other places but the closest dealer is over an hour away so give a 9 - 5 work day, sort of limited espeically with holidays coming. I too it to the dealer and they are sending pics to Four Winns for advice. The service tech thinks it could be gel cost only but wants direction from Four Winns before he is doing any work. He also said he was going to fix my loose trailer bumps and a few other things. He is definitly trying to help me out. I also talked to Four Winns customer service and sent them the pics so they are aware of the issue. We will know the next steps soon. I will let everyone know. |
