for the life of me I've tried over and over to find a zert on my outdrive to grease the gimble and cannot find one. is it closed off and not have the option the grease?

Post up a pic of the right hand side of your transom mount. That's it is supposed to be...

On the right side of your transom mount, about 1" aft of the transom, and about 1/2 way up/down should be a zerk fitting. If you have a recess there with no zerk fitting, then it must have broke off or fallen out.

Or been plugged because thegimbal bearing has been changed to a non greasable "sealed for life" type.

Thanks Guys, I'll take a look at it tonight and see what i have. I think i recall seeing that spot with a cap over it. guessing if that is the case it's "sealed for life". I'm a fairly decent shade tree mechanic so figured I could find it and it wouldn't be this tuff!
