trying to make heads or tails or the four winns site when it comes to wheel bearing part numbers.

I have an 03 galvanized single axle with the 6 lug wheels, trying to have the bearings in hand before taking apart and getting part numbers the right way. I suspect the bearings are the same on the dual/single axle models but thought I would ask here first.

Four Winns is not in business of making trailer parts, they're standard off the shelf units of whatever was in stock from their supplier at the time. One trailer made this week could have totally different parts from one made a month later. 6 lug on a single axle H200 is odd, must have been using leftover stuff that was collecting dust in a corner. Size? Who knows. You gotta take em off to get the part #'s. Personally I'd hit up Northern Tool and buy some 5 lug hubs and rims. In the event of a flat/emergency you're just simply not going to find a spare 6 hole rim/tire in stock anywhere, where as if you had 5 bolt hubs you could walk into walmart and buy something to get ya home.

I can't believe I'm saying this but Ric is right. lol About the trailer parts that is. I would never switch a 6 lug to a 5 though.

I had a hard time finding this info as well. It seems just about every trailer is different. I don't think FW makes any trailers in house. My guess is they must outsource to a few different manufacturers and that is why they are all different. I know of one small shop in Northern MI that makes them.

I finally just pulled one hub apart and took the bearings to the trailer supply store. Here are the numbers I used for mine:
Hub seal (victor 47017)
outer race Timken 15245
inner race Timken 25520
bearing inner Timken 25580
bearing outer Timken 15123

Thanks, broke down and took one of the wheels off in the snow today...

The outer matches your number (Chinese bearing) but the inner has a different number...ran out of gloves and they are soaking right now....significant pitting on the inner race even though the grease looked pretty good.

anyone have experience with the hub kits from various retailers on line? in the 30-50 price range appears to be a direct replacement.. although they don't specify brand or quality of the bearings I suspect Chinese like this one has in it.

My buddy a year ago put the Northern Tool hub kits on his trailer and tows his boat like a maniac doing 85mph on the highway every weekend. No issues

Actually if you look at the Four Winns specs, the H-200 trailer if a single axle was always a 6 lug unit in recent years because the boat was heavy enough that it would max out a 3500 axle and then some. If the boat weighed 3500-3800 when loaded with gas and all the normal stuff, then on a single axle you'd need a greater capacity axle, with 15" rims and tires and 12" brakes for it to not be overloaded.
The single axle trailer for my model had a 5 lug but it had bigger bearings from what I could see, and a higher capacity axle (like 4200 or something) than a 3500. It really depends on what brakes the trailer came with. If its a Tie Down system, then it would use standard bearings that come with just about all 6 lug hubs.
My old '88 is still on a single axle galvanized Load Rite with a 5 lug 3500 lb axle, but the older boats were lighter, the factory weight was 2560 but it must weigh more (I'd guess 3000) and it is just at the limit of what this trailer can carry with 300 lbs of tongue weight to take some weight off the axle. I don't think its overloaded because I had the bearings apart recently and they looked like new (installed back in 2004). If I was getting a newer trailer I'd use a 6 lug axle for sure, with 12" brakes, 15" rims and D Load Range tires....

I'd take the #s you have off the bearings and call Champion Trailers and ask them. I got all my stuff from them and yes the bearings were made in China but are still good. At least if you call them, or Eastern Marine, you can talk to someone who has technological understanding, and most likely get the right thing the first time. Make sure you replace the grease seals and the cotter pin or tab washer whatever it has also.
I have the Tie Down style super lube hubs (rubber plug in the dust cover, grease goes thru the spindle and is forced thru each bearing and then comes out the dust cap). They work great. Every time I have checked them there has never been any water intrusion or pitting.

For reference:
5 lug hubs with 3500 lb axles come with 1 3/8ths" x 1 1/16th" bearings
6 lub hubs with 6,000 lb axles come with 1 3/4th" x 1 1/4th" bearings

Is it a disc brake trailer or a drum brake trailer and what make of brakes are on it? If they are Tie Down you should be able to find out on Tie Down's site what bearings it takes.

It cost me like 15 dollars more per wheel but i put Timkens back in mine all the way around. My numbers are the same as jeff, but my trailer is a Loadrite. I found the timkens at Smythe automotive. They were not easy to round up.

I just rebuilt the brakes on my trailer this past weekend and in doing that replaced all the bearings also. My trailer has the 12" brakes with 6-lug wheels for my 18' Horizon.

Lou's info for the 6-lug wheel/12" brakes was correct in my case. The inner bearing had an ID of 1-3/4" and the outer bearing had an ID of 1-1/4". The bearing seal ID was 2-1/4".
According to Northern Tool, these are standard sizes for the 6-lug axles. But I would recommend measuring the steps in the axle just to make sure. Half of the bearings that came out of my hubs you could not see the numbers anymore. So I had to measure.

After buying my 2005, I had to replace each and every hub over the past couple of years. I have had good luck a trailerpartsdepot.com. I have also had good luck at a local trailer shop, just buying entire hub/bearing kits. It is just about as cheap (and certainly easier) to just buy the pre-assembled hub/bearing kit. You don't have to pound out/in the races. Just pack with grease and slide onto the axle. You have to be a little careful, however, because if the hub you buy is not for use with disk brakes (if you have them), then it will not work. I found this out while stuck on the side of the highway with a burned-out outer bearing. I bought a walmart hub but the offset was different and when I put it back on and tightened it down, the disk brakes bottomed out against the hub and locked the wheel up. Needless to say, I was back to the drawing board until I found the correct hub.

Thanks for following up, I ended up getting replacement hub kits I just need to grease and put together once the 3 feet of snow goes away.
