I am wondering if this will work for me.. my remote is a bit clunky, the plastic is busted, and well it will look bad once the entire boat is all redone.. It is a Teleflex Osprey 1700 Series Single Side Mount Control ![]() ![]() |

Yep I have the same one in the box just have not installed it yet. It's much more positive than the old OMC one |

I'm contemplating upgrading, too. I'll give you $60 Australian. Everything Aussie is more awesome. |

I've always had difficulty trying to remove my side console to access the back of it. How is it done, as the manual doesn't show anything about the throttle? Can you use a console designed for an outboard? These look sick! ![]() http://www.livorsi.com/catalog/controls_smc.htm |

I spent a few hrs looking at taking off the interior panel (on my '88 these panels are huge) but due to the way they are attached with threaded rods and nuts you would have to cut them off to get the panel off. Not easy so the other way I thought of was to disconnect the shift and throttle cables at the engine bracket. Then remove the handle, remove the screws holding the control to the interior panel and then pull the control backward and out through a big opening in the end of the panel. Going to install it this spring if the snow ever melts. If you remove the trim piece in the center of the control, then you can remove the handle. This will expose the trim piece where the screws are that hold the control to the interior panel. |

If you look online it's closer to 300 depending on where you buy it. Lol it's the coldest winter in over 20 years, no work getting done on the boat for a LONG time. This morning, 7* F, last nite 3*. this is why I use only -100 AF when I winterize. |
