I have a 2005 Horizon with only 200 original hours on it. I bought it new when I was single and it has had a lot of party days on it and been abused. Well for her 10 year birthday I am going to give her a face lift. Having her wet sanded, new carpet, New Canvas cover, and having back swim platform re-stitched. What upgrades have you guys done to your horizon that were well worth it?? Looking for suggestions to make the next 10 years as good as the first on my Horizon. Thanks.

My favourite upgrade on our H200 was the tower with fixed bimini, speakers, racks, and mirror but that was a pretty major investment. The next favourite would simply be the platform rubber mat to provide some traction when getting in and out of the boat.

I love some of the audio and lighting mods that other FW owners have done but definitely some of the best work I've seen on this forum is Gauge cluster/dash upgrades. I will be doing that soon likely...

Good Looking boat? Where did your tower come from?

I am going to end up replacing all the plastic stuff - cupholders, grab bars, vents and speaker covers with Stainless eventually. My boat is very stock, so any upgrades will be an improvement. I have already put in a VHF radio, mount for the fire extinguisher, and a USB charging station in the glovebox. Next project is finishing up the fishfinder/GPS install - I won't be doing much fishing, but it will add value to the boat.

Ric did a lot of work to his.

I also want to install one of the newer shifter - the one in my boat is very basic.

Dual batt system
Got rid of the carpet when I did the deck replacement and had the deck gel coated.
Instead of being a slave to faded colored gel coat I had it painted in red Imron. Friends thought it was a new boat.
Garmin GPS/Fishfinder linked to Standard Horizon VHF for emergency calls

Our tower was supplied and installed by our local Four Winns dealer. It was spec'd by Four Winns apparently but other forum users here can likely suggest who the original manufacturer really is that supplied Four Winns.

I did a complete stereo system . Its great cruising at 30mph or so and being able to hear a grwleat sounding stereo in the water. I did all JL Audio with a JL 7 amp and Kenwood head unit. It set me back about $1700 but it sounds killer. My next mod will be a factory four Winn's swim platform mat.

I got to looking at stuff tonight - a remote trim switch and wired stereo remote now are added to the "Wanna do" list. The newer VP shifter with the chrome looks really nice, and will eventually replace the all plastic one. And a steering wheel. And, And, And....

Thanks guys. Keep them coming. Going to the boat show in StL in a couple of weeks to get ideas for alternatives to carpet for my flooring. Think stereo upgrade maybe the way to go to. I don't think my stock system sounds bad in the boat, but if you have people in the water you have to have it turned way up. Like to have speakers pointed outward off the stern for swimmers.

I would really like to add a seagrass type flooring to my 210. If you are interested in this type of update snapincarpet.com probably already has the pattern for your boat. It is not cheap, however. I was quoted $1200-$1400. I still may have to pull the trigger this season, as my carpets are getting pretty worn.
