It has started working intermittently and will get stuck in the up or down position and there's a lot of play in the switch. When out on the water yesterday, discovered that it had gotten stuck in the down position thus the hydraulics were actuating on-stop. Can the switch be swapped out or do I need to replace the entire throttle yoke? Part numbers would be appreciated. Thanks!

You did not mention if it's a VP or Merc.

The trim switch is available on ebay... BUT - The entire throttle unit is also on there. I plan on switching out my throttle eventually when I start doing everything in stainless - cup holders, Vents, fuel fill...

Do a web search for your year and model. There is a PDF parts catalog for the VP out there.

Most of the VP boats I have seen recently use the Teleflex CH-1700 or similar model. You can replace the trim switches on these units but may have to splice in the new wiring. Merc, I don't know who makes theirs for them.

It's a VP. Ordered a new switch for $12 + shipping. Will post pics and a writeup for the swap.

I went searching for my engine and drive online and found the owners manual and most of the repair manuals available for free online. Next to find is the do-it-yourself manual.

If you dig enough on the internet, you can usually find the original supplier to VP or Merc. I found the kill switch/ cord supplier for the part for VP diesels; half the price of the VP "kit".
