So first of all thanks for this forum.....while none of the work I have done to my boat has been earth shattering ..... folks taking the time to lend their expertise and experience really make things go smoother.

Got the drive re-installed yesterday with new bellows etc.

When doing a first time out leak check where are any obvious spots to keep an eye out for? Or will a problem just not show up till next year when removing the drive again. Everything went smooth and I have no reason to think it will leak.....but....

Will be running it on the driveway a few times before the water and have a fair amount more work to get done before I get it to the water just want a checklist of things to keep an eye on.

Unfortunately, just about the only way to check if your drive bellows has leaked is to remove the drive and look. Milky grease and rust on driveshaft/u-joints are indicators.

how about the raw water inlet gasket area? Manual said to put some gasket material around the bolts which I did but it didn't appear any was on from the previous installation. Either way will pull the drive in the fall and check my handiwork...more concerned if there was a chance to have a leak that could drain the bilge pump battery after a period of time or something.
