Post subject: | VDO Question |
I have a 2000 four winns horizon and i know there are plenty of issues with the VDO clusters. my question is that all of my gauges seem to work fine. however my digital screen with depth, water temp, hours, trip, etc. has all of a sudden just started cycling itself through all the different settings. once in a blue moon it will stop and i can set it to whatever i would like but it is seldom. this is really frustrating when trying to go into new areas or back in alcoves and need to rely on depth a bit. would the VDO ground wire fix correct this problem? thanks! |

Sounds more like the "Mode" pushbutton is sticking or shorting. Here is more information about the units including troubleshooting tips. See page 3 for the digital display: http://www.cdielectronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/FourWinnsDash.pdf |

Personally, I'd invest in a multi-function fishfinder/ chartplotter. Will give you heaps more features and accurate depth. |

I put a Garmin 441S in my '88 a couple of years ago, its a GPS/depthfinder/fishfinder unit. Nice for the price and fits the smaller boats well. I have it wired into my Standard Horizon VHF so if I ever have to send an emergency call it sends my GPS position to the Coast Guard. |

Hi I have a 2000 FW. That's what my dash did. All gauges would work but display screen didn't.. Then sometimes everything would go out. Sent to CDI in Feb and for $380.00 they fixed it Now everything works. Happy camper. |
