I just bought my very first boat, a 1995 Four Winns horizon 190 5.0 OMC. As I just bought my first boat I figured I would see what others on this forum thought of this set up. :D What are some of the things I need to watch for on this thing as it seems to run absolutely perfect and fast, except it lists pretty heavy to port with a full load.

Welcome and I'm sure you will like the boat. We had a '95 190 with the 5.0 EFI Ford and we put over 2 thousand hours and 18 seasons on it. Overall we had very few problems with it.

You say it lists to port. Is that at idle or at cruise? Does it have an add-on fin on the outdrive's cavitation plate? Are you in Minnesota?

2nd season with the same boat! We had the water pump impeller disintegrate last year and almost caught the boat on fire due to overheating! Learned about impellers that day!

Our 1995 190 was my first brand new boat to me as well...bought it brand new back in 95, walked into dealer thinkin of getting the 170 Freedom but they had a better priced deal for the longer and more cylindered Horizon and I'm still thrilled today that we went that route...

I agree with Surface...I added a whale-tale typed fin to my outdrive and it tracks much more even keeled...or else I start telling people to switch sides :)

Welcome to the forum. You should enjoy that set up a lot. My uncle had a horizon from right around that year. That was a great boat.
