Just wanted to check in on Day 3 of my 2015 H180 OB and say we're loving the new boat. (Hard to not love a new boat, right?) We've never owned a boat before so we're still getting better at docking and have a lot to learn, but we're learning fast! And speaking of fast, I haven't gotten the Evinrude 135 H.O. up to top speed yet. I'm almost afraid to. :) I'm happy with 30 mph for now.

Thank you to everyone here for answering my questions leading up to the purchase. I felt completely prepared when I set foot in the boat the first day thanks to all the info and support here.

Now they need to build an H-200 with this set up, just make the deck a bit higher so it can be self bailing, please.
Other requests:
tinned wiring, PLEASE!
room for 2 batteries
2 bilge pumps standard
front and rear rails
simpler seating
straight frame windshield not curved in case you ever have to replace that glass (it gets discontinued and then you have to have a replacement made in plexiglass)
So make it a bit more like a dual console salt water boat so I can stay with F/W please....

Reply back from Frenchy:

self bailing, please. We'll put in the drains, but a little too small
tinned wiring, PLEASE! Ok, we'll compromise and make about 1/2 of the wiring tinned
room for 2 batteries OK, but it will list if you put them on one side
2 bilge pumps standard Not Likely
front and rear rails Not likely
simpler seating We'll put in so much non-removable seating that there is no floor left
straight frame windshield not curved in case you ever have to replace that glass (it gets discontinued and then you have to have a replacement made in plexiglass) What decade are you from?
So make it a bit more like a dual console salt water boat so I can stay with F/W please. OK, but we'll make sure it requires more maintenance than the others, and doesn't withstand sun exposure as well.

LOL
Message to Frenchy:
Le ' bateau pour lac' ne march pas bien dans l'eau sel, n'est pas?
Pour le prochain bateau, il faut acheter un bateau Boston Whaler, Grady White ou Key West...
(apologies to any members of French origin)....
I'm from the same decade as the original Chevrolet small block that still powers thousands of boats, lol....

Finally getting around to uploading another photo of the new boat. I have to say, it's really nice having a current model and we feel very fortunate that we could have a fresh start with a new boat. I wonder how we'll feel in 2016 when our boat gets old! :)

My neighbors all think it's weird that the gas tank is on the side of the hull, but it doesn't bother me. They love everything else about the boat, however!

Bumping this back up.

How do you like the 180 OB with the eTec now that you've had it for a few years?

We are still really happy with it. Had a few small issues with the engine, but they were covered by an Evinrude recall (slight lack of cooling due to a stiff spring). Fit and finish are still good. We keep it clean but not perfect.

I have freshened up the waterproofing of the canvas each year with 303 Fabric Guard and applied too much one year which resulted in a splotchy appearance but only the mosquitoes see it overnight.

Not bad.

The mosquitoes have been awful this year. Both of my arms are still bleeding and the bites were from almost a week ago now.
