Trying to find my running issues. 93 four winns 190, 302 ford new engine runs great except under load. It spits and sputters, figure carb needs attention timing is also set right on. I have what I figure is a vac line coming from rear of carb but I see no port for it to go to. Any ideas

Can you take a photo of the port?
It's likely for the PCV, but could also be for the electric choke.

Not sure why but there is a screen filter on the one port

The brass port with the screen is not actually a port - It is for the electric choke & nothing attaches to it.
You'll have a PCV that should attach to a rocker cover, a small diameter hose to the choke and a carb' return line that goes to the mechanical fuel pump.
Download the Holley manual for a 2300.

I do have a line from the fuel pump but it's not hooked up to anything

Well plugged the port in the rear . And put carb on. It's running horrible. Could it be because I plugged the port

Okay unplugged the port and also i found the accelerator was put in backwards. SO now no more black smoke and loading up. But I still have the high rpm bogging. Im going to wire in a spare tach and mount on side until I order the correct tach.
