I have a 2003 H240 with the 280HP 5.7Gi
That boat weight is listed as about 4200LB
That year 5.7 engine is believed to be closer to 300HP

If I look at the H260 I believe it is about 4900LB.

I recently was out on my boat with 9 adults on board. The boat planes slowly but steadily with that quantity of people.
We typically have six adults on board and have no issues at all.
I would think your boat would be very similar performance to mine.

The boat is entirely adequate for everyday use.
If you want to cruise across a smooth lake at 50 plus -- it will not do it.

Being in salt water we seldom have the boat going very fast.
My top speed in the real world is about 44MPH on the GPS with two people on board and 3/4 fuel.

On a large freshwater lake when when we typically cruise in the 30-35 for a combination of get there in reasonable time, but not use excessive fuel.

I would go with the boat if the rest of the deal looks good --

good luck --- Dale

So it was last September when I was looking at an H260, I found this forum and today I thought I'd update my post with this.

Thanks to all who commented. I purchased the boat this spring and I couldn't be happier. Is the 320hp 5.7GXi a rocket ship? No, but it has no trouble getting on plane even with a boat full of passengers and another benefit is it's actually pretty easy on fuel.

Below is a pic from an evening cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee a couple weeks ago with 12 passengers.

For those who like to pic apart posts...yes the pic was taken at a slow speed and not on plane but I did get up on plane a few times that evening and I was pleasantly surprised at the ease to do so.

Twox48: Congratulations! Looks like a beautiful boat.

DaleG: We still need to get together some time. I was at the Peanut Island Sandbar last Friday. :D
