Hey all,

Hoping for some ideas on how to secure my port & starboard bow seats in choppy waters?
They hinge from the back (towards the stern) and frequently lift up and bang closed during chop.
I've thought about:

Magnets = Corrosion
Bungee Loops/ Eyes = Awkward angles/ not very efficient
Velcro = Short term
Bikini Models permanently seated up there = Short term (marriage! :P ).

Any suggestions, please?

My Crownline has seat cushions secured with a stud and rubber grommet fastener. On one side there is a plastic stud with a round end. The other side is a rubber grommet. The stud fits into the grommet. It takes a bit of force to both secure and remove them, they've never come loose. I'll have to see if I have any pictures. I have no idea what the name is or who makes them.

I found a picture of one half. It is the rubber grommet at the lower right of the picture. I'm sure I don't have a picture of the mating part since it is on the bottom of the cushion.

Can you mount something like this:
http://www.mcmaster.com/#12855a11/=zu2eqd
It's all Plastic and Stainless Steel.
It's made byhttp://www.southco.com, but the above is on the McMaster-Carr web site.

I don't think it would take much to keep the seat down, so if you used Velcro, it wouldn't require much.

These are the type of holder that 97_245 was talking about. Not sure where you could buy them in AU though.
