Hitting the water Sunday and I do not want to wait for something to come in. What are my options to replace the starter solenoid from me local auto parts store?

I heard Ford has one that is similar.

Thanks!

It should be a Marine Starter in order to be certified as "ignition proof" (protecting from sparks in your bilge area). Here is one of the many threads about starters:

If you had to temporarily use a non-marine starter, you would want to be extra careful about ventilation and checking for fumes before each start.

Is this a Ford or Chevrolet marine engine? Reason being is that the Ford uses a different type of starter (Positive engagement starter) and the relay that energizes it is a simple auto Ford style relay. Same thing is used on my engine for the assist solenoid and the trim relays.
