I've scanned the owner's manual and can't find info on what the ignition key switch positions are.
The key has these positions:
All the way counter clockwise (which I suspect is "off")
One click clockwise (key is vertical)
Next click clockwise (I suspect to be the "on" position)
Next one is "start" (motor turns over)

All the switches seem to always work (blower, bilge pump, lights)
No matter the key position.

I just want to make sure when I'm turning the key "off" that it's not
in an "acc" position like in a car/truck.

Anyone know? Of course there is no labeling anywhere on the "dashboard"

You sure about that? Sounds like you might have one extra position, or maybe its a newer design switch. Any of the switches for inboards that I have used are like this:

All the way to the left, off. One notch to the right, ignition is on, gauges come on. One more notch to the right, engages the starter. Usually on most small boats, all the accessories (ie bilge, blower, radio, etc) including the trim will work with the ignition off. That's why you have to remember to turn off the radio, GPS unit or else you run down the battery.

The accessory position is not necessary on most small boats because of how its wired like I said above. One click to the right turns the ignition circuit and the engine gauges on, but all your other accessories will work with the key OFF....

However, after looking around I see that there are 4 position switches, with an accessory postion, look here....Not sure if this is what you have, but check anyway.

If everything (accessories) always work regardless, maybe they installed a 4 position switch on a boat that only needs a 3 position one!

The switch on my boat has 4 positions, but it's a got a diesel engine.

1. "Off"
clockwise to

2."On" (run) when everything comes to life
clockwise to

3. a spring loaded "Start" which when released goes back to "run".

The 4th position is an anticlockwise position from "off" , spring loaded which when held, stops the engine ! It does not stop when the switch is turned from "run" to "off".

I'm going from recent memory...I didn't notice if the gauges come on with the first click.
I recently picked up the boat and haven't had it out except for the shakedown cruise when we picked her up.

It's sitting covered in my driveway waiting for the weather to break a bit (snow forcast for tomorrow!) before I do my first launch.

When we uncovered it to do some cleaning and familiarization, the key was in the vertical position and I thought it should have been all the way left.

I just didn't want it sitting with any battery drain...

My 2008 ignition switch is -

1) Accessory - like some automobiles
2) Off - straight up and down
3) System On
4) Starter engaged

Looks like I left it in acc mode...hope nothing is draining the battery...
After the snow I'll take the covers off and check it.

I use my accessory mode (1 click counter clockwise) to run my stereo when the motor is off. In that position, my hour meter is off also.
If I leave the ignition in the Run position, the engine hour meter clicks away even if the engine is off....

LOL, this makes me realize how ancient my boat really is. 3 position switch, points and condenser ignition, 4 bbl carb, ancient! But I like it that way, no annoying check engine lights.

This is how my 2007 is as well. Really the only difference is that the radio will only work in ACC mode or "On" mode but blower, bilge, lights, etc. that are on the helm switches all work regardless of the position that key is in. The only thing tied to the key position is the radio. Test it out for yourself to make sure, though, using the radio when it is powered on.
