"Situation has now been resolved. Mechanic disconnected the fuel lines and found air pockets in the lines. He bled the lines, reconnected them, and it solved the problem. Boat is running great now. "

All,

I was under the impression that the the fuel system would purge the air itself during the priming process when you first turn the key on (before actually starting the engine). Is that not the case? Others have said that they bled air from the fuel system by using the valves on the low pressure fuel pump and also under the flame arrester and that it helped to quite down the normal whine of the fuel pump, but then others on here say that there is no need.

Does anyone have a definitive answer?
