Post subject: | Identifying Carb Model |
gents, I finally got the boat out on the water for the first time this year! everything worked out great except a bog in my low end as i'm trying to get out of the whole shot and on plane. I can manage around it but figure i should get a re-build kit for my carb and while at it throw in a new fuel water separator. i checked while out on the water and for the life of me cannot read the tags on my carb due to too much factory paint. any help? 2000 Four Winns horizon 190 V8 (volvo penta drive and motor) pretty sure Holley 2 barrel thanks! |

Likely a 500 CFM Holley 2300. FYI, I had to increase the Accelerator Pump Nozzle 3 sizes to remove the bog out of my Volvo 5.7GL. |

Last time I bought a Volvo Rebuild kit for my carb, it came the Black accelerator pump diaphragm. My carb already had a Green accelerator pump diaphragm, with is suitable for use with Ethanol mix at any percentage. The Black one will break down, so I left the old Green one (might be silicone instead of rubber?) and just used the rest of the kit. I would suggest buying a marine rebuild kit directly from Holley if possible instead of buying from VP. Make sure diaphragm is rated for Ethanol mix. Even if you don't use E10, you might use it in a pinch. I use E10 all the time without any problems. Here is a good thread on the accelerator pumps: http://www.smwebhead.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10033&hilit=rebuild Here is a source for accelerator pumps: http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performance-Products/JEGS-Accelerator-Pump-Diaphragms/1391262/10002/-1 Note: You can change the accelerator pump without a complete rebuild. However, you might be overdue for a rebuild anyway. Ray |

You should check PNs but it should be 3850712 (or 3854106 or 987317)...but just get a sierra kit 18-7244. Should be able to get these for <$50 all day but it has to have that green accelerator pump diaphragm. |
