Post subject:  Introduction / first boat

I've been thinking about buying a boat for a while, and in October I pulled the trigger on a barely used 07 Horizon 210. Got a couple of nice weekends when I first got it, and in another month or so the lakes in north Texas will be calling my name. Anyway glad I found this forum. I'll attempt to post a picture of the boat, and the method I came up with to keep my new toy from sinking...

If this is still here, don't unhook that strap!

Good idea on the drain plug. I never thought I'd use a similar technique until I launched one day last summer with the plug sitting at home on my workbench. Thanks to a friend who was paying attention, I was able to zip it right back on the trailer. Lesson learned. Now I tape the plug to the winch handle and carry a spare in the glovebox.

Beautiful boat. Where do you boat at? We will be looking for members to meet up with this summer, our first summer in Texas. Looking forward to a long boating season.

Troy, I'm in Dallas and the boat is on a trailer so the quick afternoon trips will be to Lewisville, Grapevine, Eagle Mountain. We'll throw in a few longer weekend trips as well Possum Kingdom, Palestine, Texoma...any other suggestions? What part of Texas are you in?

See you TX guys out there. We'll be regulars on Lewisville as we live about 3 miles away, but plan on Texoma, PK and others in the area. If you get a chance take a trip down to Austin on Lake Travis. It is a beautiful Lake and you won't be disapointed. I say it's the closest thing to Table Rock in MO, which I find myself comparing every lake to now.

Like the drain plug idea. How did you secure the wrench to the strap? Velcro?
