Does anyone have any experience with the red color fading or discoloriing .Traditionly red tends to fade and as I will be using the boat in an area where 50 degree celcius (125 degree F if my conversion serves me right) occurs several times a year, and sunny days are the norm even in winter . Thanks Ardy |

Rule of thumb, whether its boats, cars, houses, or anything else - the more red or green there is in the color, the faster it will fade. It isn't the temperature that does it, but rather the amount of accumulated exposure to UV. Keeping a UV blocking wax on it very religiously will help. |

My brother in law has a maroon Crownline, similar to my Maxum. One side is virtually faded, the other looks brand new. This is mainly because the sun only hits the one side. After seeing that, I turn my boat 180 when winterizing so it fades more evenly. Another thought is to get a tarp or something to cover the sides when it won't be used for a bit; besides, of course what the others have said. |
