hello,

anyone know how much difference in letters on an engine? i get the 5.0 fi vs 5.0gl but after that are the engine pretty the same?

fi = fuel injected 260 hp

gl = 2 barrel carb 220 hp

In the Volvo line up the 5.0Fi is a 5.0 liter Ford fuel injected engine, while the 5.0Gl is a 5.0 liter GM engine with a carb (I believe 2 bbl). You will see references like "EFI" indicating electronic fuel injection, or just "fi" for fuel injection.
