Post subject: | Interior question |
I am installing a big air tower, and have a question about the interior on a 2001 190. Do the side panels on the interior of the boat snap out like the interior would on your car door or do they have bolts/screws under the upholstry? Obviously I have to remove them to set my brackets for the tower. Thanks in advance!!!! Everyone on this board has been a huge help to me in my everyday boating life. Long live Four Winns!!! |

The newer ones are bolted, I don't know if that's a change since then. |

I would be surprised if you are able to remove any side panels. I would think you would have to access through the speaker holes, etc. I installed a tower on another brand boat and had to reach through the cup holders and speaker holes to mount the tower. I haven't really looked at my Four Winns since it already has a tower but it may have the option of removable by bolts. I just took it slow and double checked everything. Once you drill those holes you can't change it. Good Luck! |

That is a good questions I would think you can remove anything on the inside pretty easily. The dealer is installing a skylon on mine next month we will see how it works out. |

Yeah I'm sure they can be taken off, but I do think they're bolted. |

I spent the afternoon crawling around my 2001 260 horizon while I was watching the Daytona 500 and installing some docking lights (watch for a separate thread shortly). I noticed that all my side panels are bolted with very small diameter bolts! They seem to leave them really long too! I would suggest that you get on your back with a good flashlight and maybe even a mirror and do some investigation. You will really get a feel for how the interior is assembled fairly quickly. I personally am amazed at how little there is attaching the panels. You would think that they would eventually pound off with some serious use! Have fun hunting. By the way, I discovered some small little speakers that the previous owner had installed behind the bow right and left seat side backs! and now I know every nook and cranny for those obscure only used once in awhile but may be required items. |

Let me know how it goes. I bought a Big Air tower also but was planning on having someone else install it (mainly because I can't figue out how to get behind the side panels). |

Tower is on, and looks very nice. I'll be honest, this was an easy install. Just had to go through my bow cupholders for the front tower and had room in one of the cubbies for the rear brackets. I'll post some pics soon. It won't quit raining here so I haven't had it out much yet, and on top of that I for some reason just lost all of my gauges. ARGGGG!!!!!!!!! |

Check the helm breaker. It's probably in the engine compartment. |
