I can't figure out how to access the backside of these. Can't get access thru the head, it's a solid fiberglass enclosure. Possibly behind the bow seat back but can't see how to remove it.

I don't have a clue about your boat but made a few discoveries on my 248 that might help you. I was running my new stereo remote cable and found a panel on the ceiling of the bed with 6 screws in it. Took them out and I could get to most of the side of the boat. Look for panels like that. Also there were 4 screws in the back of a small closet that came out and gave me better access. Also under some of the upholstery there are holes.

Thanks Rick. Unfortunately on a bowrider there isn't access like there is on a cruiser. This was a cakewalk to access on the 318...removed the closet and it was right there. 268 was a breeze to add an A/C vent...but reaching this vent on the 240 is a pain.



I'm replacing the starboard side fresh water tank vent with a flush mount like this - would like to do the head vent at the same time if I can access it.

I was thinking you may have to remove the bench seat cushion, and then reach in and up from underneath. It seems like most of these cushions are held on by a threaded stud sticking out the back of the cushion, through a hole in the deck, with a fender washer & nut on the back.

Also look under the upholstery for a screw. My seat backs are generally hooked on with a screw in the bottoms to hold it on. Look in the seams and lift up on it.

Good call, I remember that from my 268 days. The port side trim panels are held on like that, starboard side are thru bolted like Mike described. Of course this seat doesn't have the screw in the bottom...I may get to play contortionist later today!

If you get one of those telescoping inspection mirrors you should be able to at least tell if my theory is correct.
