The weather in Seattle has been mild... and sunny all week. Makes me want to crack open the shrink wrap and start some boating projects. BUT - I know better - we'll get one more winter blast before winter is officially over. Is anyone working on their boats this weekend? Who's got cool stories? |

Headed to the KC Boat Show in the morning. I plan on ordering those LED Lighted cup-holders I've been talking so much about. Once that's done, I have plenty of projects to fill my days until launching. ie: Spare Battery and Monitor install; Rope Lighting in the side storage areas; Engine Comp lighting and spare tire/mount to name a few. It should be warm enough to melt the snow in the drive this weekend! |

yup...it was so nice today that I opened up my boats' covers and let her feel warm sun. Even though she's always clean....I wiped her down inside and out while listening to her serius radio. Felt good just sitting in it. After reading all the posts on corrosion...I checked her out and had 230Mike walk me through the unknowns I had and all checked out fine. Did some trailer polishing as well too for good measure...I'd love to take her out, but your right...we'll prob get one more winter blast come through Seattle before winter finally ends... |

I still need to do some hub maintenance before spring - pretty glamorous ![]() I'll say it again, you guys who don't have LED lights on your trailers (like I didn't), if you tow very far, changing to LED's is a very satisfying, and easy, upgrade. I wish I'd done it sooner. |

Well, I went to the boat show today. The dealer I took my boat to for the decals recognized me, and we got to talking. He's also the one selling the Lighted Cup-holders. So, He's going to see that they'll fit in mine when he gets back to the shop, then order a set if they do! ![]() ![]() I also went over the top today. Being the engenuitive engineer I am (but not such a good speller), I bought a car remote set-up so I can switch my lights on/off using a keyless entry type arrangement. This will toggle my Nav/Ctsy/Cupholder lights. I'll also have the horn wired into the panic button. This way, I'll be able to find my boat in my drunken stupor.... or, when I'm out camping, and just want to make sure it's held fast before I go to sleep for the night. ![]() I'll keep everyone posted on my pre-launch fiasco's... er, ah, projects. |

We went to the show also. It was the first time I've been able to board a 310, and I fell in love. I don't expect to change boats in the foreseeable future - we love our 240 and like being able to trailer it wherever we want to go - but if we were interested in a bigger bowrider and were ready to keep it at one lake permanently, that boat would be a top contender. Yowza. We both loved the big ol' house boat too, but $525K is a bit out of our reach ![]() |

Oh, Walt. With discounts you could have a well-equipped 310 for $125K. Just work a couple hours of overtime. |

Big Boat Bay Buster - That's a great use for a tree. You're a brave, brave man! I think I may still be sitting here the end of March with snow on the ground at this pace. Another 4-8" expected tonight ![]() On the plus side, looks like Uncle Sam is buying me a bimini ![]() |

My boating project for the next few weekends involve tying up loose ends around the house that would interfere with my boating time when the ice melts. |
