got an issue i'm hoping you guys can help with. Last summer I could not get the port side wake to "not crest" over. The starboard wake is perfect and I can get pretty good air but the other side flat out sucks. I've tried trimming, speed changes and weight changes (ppl in the boat) but can't get it right. Any ideas?? |

I have the same issue. Try extra weight or a different prop |

Is the boat riding level? I know you said you moved people around, but have you noticed the starboard side being lower? I'm not convinced that the prop may play a role in this also. Many die-hard wakeboarders that use I/O boats have switched to the Merc High Five prop. |

the boat is riding level...I've never heard of the high five prop though...I dont see how a prop is going to help that much besides holeshot |

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've upgraded to an inboard, but previously has an I/O and have a lot of experience setting it up for wakeboarding: New prop: 5 blade stainless prop (Mercury High-five) Makes an unbelievable difference, I tried lower pitches & 4-blade props, the 5-blade is a whole other world! quite pricey, but can usually be found used for ~$250 worth every penny! better speed control Better hole-shot better turning (@ speed and @ idle speeds) This is from another site. Many of the same responses. Txjole2: I absolutely love to wakeboard. But our lakes are rough, and the wifey no likey the boat riding rough. Wakeboats are not deep v hulls and are designed for that perfect "butter". Not to mention, not all die-hard wakeboarders have $40K & up for a new boat. |

Never claimed to be a diehard wakeboarder but I pulled a guy last summer that could easily pull off flips and other crazy tricks behind my boat...just couldnt do it off the port wake because the cresting. If I can make my boat more wakeboard friendly than I'm all about it. I'll read into the that high-5...thanks for the info Brent |

I had a similar problem. I have nautique wedge sac's and a bow sac in my 07 h220 with trim pulled up to about the first line and 5 people it is a great wake i have no problems doing big inverts and spins off of toe side or heel side wake. If you put the sac in the rear lockers. Fill up the port about a 1/4 more than the starboard. I can upload some just wake pics. It is a pretty monster wake for a stern drive. This is with 9 people and no ballast at about 70ft...

I don't know how much weight Eyekahn is rocking in his 220, but I've got a 600 lb fat sac that I put in between my bow seats (sometimes inside the ski locker-depending on how many I've got on board) and 2 70-lb sandbags under the port bow seat to balance out the weight. Usually it is just my wife and our 2 year-old son in the boat when I'm boarding, but if she trims it up to between the 1st and 2nd mark the wakes steepens and cleans up at the same time. At 21MPH, it narrows out a little as well and keeps the lip of the wake from getting soft. I also have PerfectPass installed, which I'd highly recommend. So, I don't know that I'm "hard core" but I'm probably the closest thing to a hardcore wakeboarder who refuses to upgrade to an inboard "wake-specific" boat. |

Bow sac is 600 or so wedges combined are 500 or so. ID say 1400lbs with people. Which is well within the 1600-1800 weight limit. I usually just fill up the sacs when im about to ride and empty when we are done. More weight in the front is better for a steeper wake. More weight in the rear is better for a rampy wake in our boats. |
