Great site. I am about to purchase a 2008 funship 224 and really liked the 220 horizon. I am leaning towards the funship because of the Head/sink and the options on the funship. What are the pros and cons of each model?

I own an 06 220-H and absolutely love it! I never looked at the Funships other than on the brochures...

If you like the options of the Funship, you may want to consider looking at the 240-H. The 240-H has the same features as the Funship you are looking at. I'm not sure what the cost difference is between the two.....I'm sure someone on this forum has the answers....

Even though I love my 220-H, I'd go to the 240-H in a heart beat....

Inline with what Law950 noted... The 224 funship is about 4 inches from being an H240.

I opted to spend the extra bucks and go with the H240... The funship is a great lineup, but I don't think they've really caught on in terms of the market when compared to an H240. Both have heads... The H240 has a sink with a countertop/garbage can area. The Funship has the rear facing seating - the H240 has fold out loungers (so does the H220).

The H220 is noticeably shorter than the 224 funship. Price is a different topic entirely.

I would say check out all 3 boats and determine which works best for you. A pump out head was a priority 1 for us - so it was an H240 or Funship 224. We wanted the 5.7 GXI 320hp motor which is not available in the Funship 224. We didn't need the rear facing seating, so the fold out loungers won that battle.... And, my wife just couldn't get attached to the "lines" of the funship series - it just wasn't her style. She loved the lines of the H240.

Also try to take them for a test drive... they should handle pretty close to the same, but get a feeling for what it's like to move around on the boat... That will help your decision greatly.

We nearly bought the 214 (what used to be the 224). Once we realized the 240 is virtually identical in weight and has everything else we wanted, it was a no-brainer to switch to the 240.

Thanks for the advice. My Wife wanted the funship and we placed a deposit on one. She liked the wide (somewhat ugly) bow of the boat. The one we bought is loaded. Grill, chrome swim platform rack, pump out head, upgraded steering wheel, radio and trailer, camper cover and a full set of canvas, ski pylon... And the dealer throw in a 4 year volvo extension warranty. I really like the lines of the H240, I think it was about 5000 more. I am very happy to join the fourwinns group. I was impressed with the fit and finish of the boat. If anyone has any new Four Winns advice let me know.
Thanks

Welcome. There is tons of new FW advice, but if we all tried to say it at once we would undoubtedly miss something. My best FW advice? Read as many threads on this board as possible.
