So I was at the lake yesterday and had a problem with the captains call. If the boat was running with the captains call on and I turned the boat off, the next time I turned the boat on the captains call would be off. I would push the button to open it back up again and nothing would happen. I would push the button again and the captains call would open up. Its not a huge problem, but I know its not supposed to work that way so I wanna find out whats wrong. I havent had a chance to look into it at all yet, but was wondering if you guys had any ideas. Thanks.

Let me suggest two things. First, with the key in the on position, toggle the CC on/off a few times and make sure both solenoids are actually working. I noticed before the season began mine would work only occasionally. After toggling them, and maybe working them loose they have been flawless. If they are still sticking, check your electrical connection to them, as well as your battery voltage. Could be just a poor connection some where.

I leave my switch "on", so anytime I turn the ignition to run, they "thunk" before I start it up. I hope your problem is that simple.

Thanks Walt, Im thinking it may be the battery...I have ran the radio for 4+ hours or so on multiple outings and have yet to charge it all summer.

I've ran the battery down 3 times now to the point of not even turning the engine over. This has never caused a problem with the captains call opening when the key is turned on.

Gotta get that 2nd batt installed.........
