Hey guys, I did a search (granted maybe not a very well done search) on a dual batt system. I picked up my 07 190 with only one battery. I am now planning on an upgraded stereo system (amps, subs, tower speakers) and I would like the extra juice and peace of mind on two batts. Now I dont necessarily want to pay the extra cost of a dealer install if it is something I could handle. I was wonder if someone could give me an idea on how to do the install and the approx cost I would greatly appreciate it. I like the batt switch where I control which batt gets the charge as opposed to the auto charger (i have a control problem ![]() -Kyle |

We prety much did our own install and granted we did have some amps lying around we spent about 1000.00 on wires, some speakers , an amp and a bunch of LED lighting ... Something to think of if you are running wires and all that ... If you like LED lighting do it while you are already running wires .. I do not think it will void the warranty. We left the stock head unit in and just added speakers and power / ground for the Amps all on thier own fuse .. As for how to do it , will depend on how much power you will be drawing , etc, etc.. Good luck and if you do get something done post some PIX !!! |

I think my initial post was a lil misleading. Thnxs for the quick reply. I am not so much concerned about the stereo install (quite versed). I was hoping someone could give me a run-down on the equip/costs of installing a second battery. |

Our old boat we did ourselves ( about 2 years ago ) . Battery switch, Battery Cables and extra battery came to about 200.00 no more than 250.00 plus our time to do it and a 6 pack of miller lite ! ![]() I think the switch was about 50.00 , 50.00 - 80.00 in some heafty battery cable and an Interstate Deep Cycle at the time for about 100- 150.00 or so at the time We had never attempted this before. The instructions with the battery switch explained everything well and it was prety darn easy !!! |

I am a big fan of Blue Sea's "Add a Battery" system. It includes a switch and an ACR. It can be setup to isolate the House and Starting systems, and automatically combine them when a charging source is present and the non-starting battery's charge level drops below a certain point. The switch allows for combining batteries to start the engine in an emergency, and of course can be used to turn all switched systems off. Here's the Blue Sea Systems site: http://bluesea.com/productline/overview/329 Here's a dual battery discussion by longtime member VistaAl: http://members.toast.net/boatguy/dualbatt.htm I understand boatfix.com has the Add a Battery packages for around $100. |

Thnx for all the replies. Any ideas on warranty issues if I install it myself or should that question be directed to my dealer? |
