greetings to this forum-1st timer

I have what appears to be a big problem, any advice or direction much appreciated
My 2000/ Horizon 180 was stored in a garage that collapsed due to snowload, destroying the windshield.(curved)
subsequent calls to Taylor-Made in NY and IN have shown
that this windshield/walkthru/wing combo is obsolete.
I also tried Taylor-Made Systems(under the same corporate umbrella but a different
division)(as seen on Iboats)- same reply-not available.
FourWinns suggested I contact WaterBonnet who used to manufacter the Horizon windshield,
their customer service is looking into it for me,but I'm not real positive about it
as WaterBonnet is also a division of Taylor-Made.
Does anyone on the board know of a Marine Salvage company that deals in FourWinns?
or of a database that I might access and search salvage inventories.
any and all suggestions appreciated
Thx

What did your insurance company have to say? I'd have to imagine they'd be able to find a fabricator that could make the necessary parts.

What about a local Four Winns dealer/service dept., have you tried that? I would think they could help or direct you to someone that can.

I would check with FW directly. I've looked for a few parts that the dealer said was no longer made, but FW was able to give me part numbers to have ordered. Their parts department should be able to help you out if you give them a call.

Also, here's the URL to their electronic parts book:
http://www.fourwinns.net/partbook/2000/pa/basemodel.php?dh=180H-A00

Look under Deck Hardware for the windows.

There are a couple of ebay stores I ran across last winter that may have something to suit you. They were "bare bones marine" and "great lakes skipper". I remember one of them had windshields. Good Luck!

I'd be surprised if Water Bonnet couldn't get a windshield for a boat that's only 8 years old, if they were the OE supplier. They were able to get me windshield glass for my 1988 Horizon, in 2005! (17 years old!)

FYI to this board:
I have been in contact with waterbonnet, they were not the OEM manufacturer for my Horizon,
Taylor-Made was. However after several calls to waterbonnet with hull and part numbers as well as a jpg. sent to their engineering dept. so they could see my damaged original frame, they seem to be convinced that they have a match. it will have to be manufactured ,it is not a windshield they have in stock, I am however encouraged by the fact that they will be using curved glass for the wings instead of acrylic like a few other custom manufacurer's recommended. they have advised me that it will take 3 weeks, so i guess best case i'll have it by 1Jul, which will be fine by me
thx to all here who had suggestions!

Looks like you have already done the leg work for me. I need just the walk through window for a 2000 Horizon 230, and when I ordered it from the dealer they said it would be 2-4 weeks. Now after 7 weeks they tell me it is obsolete and they can't get it. I like your idea about a salvage database.

I've been told by the dealer a couple of times that a part is obsolete, only to call FW to get a part number and confirmation that it is available. Try calling FW to see what your options are.
