Hey guys, I am looking at purchasing a new 200 SS, which the dealer is trying to get rid of the last two. He has a stock Horizon 200 and the 200 SS model. I am wondering what kind of a price would be a GREAT for buying the SS. The stock he has advertised for 27,800 and the SS is at 34,000. Any suggestions would be great! Are you guys happy with the way four winns performs on the water? Thanks again |

I've had my SS on the water once... and love it! Click my link for the pic's/vid and decide for yourself. What color? I think we have all SS colors covered on this board. I paid 43k for my 210SS w/ 6.2. 34k for a 200SS may be in line with that. Go to the Four Winns site, build it there, and knock about 20% off the MSRP. That's about what you should be expecting for actual selling price. I say go with the SS!! Good luck! |

I'm sure all the boat show season rebates are off now, so those are pretty good prices. |

monstertitan - I as well as a couple others around here know where you will do better than 20% off MSRP (especially on left over models) but you will have to go to the mid-east (NH) to get it. They have an 07 ss left over quite nicely equipped for 34k so that is probably a reasonable price if its a 5.7/320 hp. Do yourself a favor and check out Walts video it is sweet. This is also worth checking out on youtube - its the sistership to the leftover at Winnisquam. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffNqmV1N ... re=related |

Thanks guys, ya'll have some pretty nice pictures and videos! That exhaust sounds pretty sick too! i think this boat has the 5.0L engine. I will be a first time boat buyer, and was debating over this one and the chaparral 200ssi. Im not sure what you guys think of the Chaps. But that SS has been on my mind since I saw it. |

Chapparral ssi is sweet, as is the Crownline. Almost went with the Crown. Not sure if I can say that here. Just found I would get more for my money with FW. The afore-mentioned are several hundred pounds heavier under the same power also. |

I spent nearly a year shopping looking at boats, researching, etc. Blessed is right up the alley I was in.... FW gets you a better HP to Weight ratio, and a bit more for the money than most I saw. My final decision was actually between an '08 Ebbtide (extreme), an '08 FW 210SS, and the one I actually picked. Mine is also a "leftover" from 07. It was a very close competition. I don't care what color SS you decide on, just make sure the outdrive is Black ![]() |

Hmmm, I went with a "silver" outdrive. I was just going to paint it black. Figured that way I could have the best features of both - quality build and a drive that matches my gel. ![]() FOOD FIGHT!!! |

Of course you came to the right place to ask about buying an H200ss boat. Along with some of the others I was also looking at Crownline, Regal, even Yamaha. The fit and finish of the Four Winns is as good or better than the others I mentioned and the ride is also just as good as the Crownline, can't say for the other 2. If the price is right for you and it has the options you want, get it! You won't be disapointed. Something else to consider.......regardless of who you buy your boat from, finagle as many extra goodies as you can into your deal like trailerable cover, spare tire, 20 hour service (one I wish I would have had added), snap on covers, etc, etc. Good luck |

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the comments. I am schedule for a test drive on Monday. This one happens to be yellow, which I wasn't crazy about at first but it does stand out. Like I said earlier, this will be my first time buying a boat so all the suggestions help out. |

Ahhh yellow; check out pictures Brent87LT1 has posted. I suspect you'll re-think your opinions on Yellow after seeing those. Don't think you can even order an SS in a fugly color. ![]() |

Same here on the Crownline. I was down to a Crown and my 220H, but I just didn't see the "small things" in the Crown. I liked the interior better, especially the u-shaped seating, in the FW. The Crown just had a bench seat in the back and very few "features" in their interior. On top of that, the sales guy at the boat show basically told me he wasn't going to bother spending much time talking to me about the boat because "it sells itself." He was obviously used to dealing with uneducated boat buyers. I had already built out a FW and was looking at a Crown to make sure the prices were at least comparable. They were (and the FW price was a tiny bit better), but what really sold me on the FW v. a Crown was my next door neighbors' boat. They bought an '02 Crown (23 foot-top of the line-LXI???) in 2004 and we went out on an area lake with them shortly thereafter. The thing ran and rode fine, but was less than impressive. It looked like it had been well-maintained, but a bunch of stuff on it didn't work or didn't work right. Didn't have a lot of hours on it, either. I never forgot that, especially when choosing between the two. I'm not trying to bash Crown by any means, just telling of my limited experience. In the end, I feel like I got a better boat for about the same money in my 220H. |

About a month ago bought a left over 2007 220 H with the 5.7 Gi/DP $33,900. No trade. Remote for stereo, bow scuff plate, covers and few other options. Hope this gives you something to gauge from. |
