I took delivery of my 2008 H180 3.0 on Saturday and dropped it in a near by lake. The adventure was a success. When i brought it home i tried to flush it using muffs. I ran the engine for about 15 seconds but I dont know how to verify that the water was actually cycling through the engine so i didnt want to risk it. Where should i see the water shooting out from? Am i an idiot for letting the lake water sit in my engine for a couple days? Thank you for your help! |

I let lake water sit in mine for a month. I probably shouldn't, but since it isn't stored at home and we often don't get home until very late at night, it just happens. |

I would worry about fresh lake water. Salt water I would flush it. |

Lake water should be fine. The only time I've run mine on the muffs is before the first time out. Water will come out of a hole under the drive and will drop straight down. It may be different on the newer models, but that's how mine works. The best way to clean out the old lake water is to swap it out for new lake water. ![]() |
