My Delivery Story
By - Blessed
Drive through the Atlantic Provinces was dull as hell but into Maine and New Hampshire was such a payoff. Arrived at my dealer probably 15 hours later. My rig looked unbelievable and by that I mean prep and detailing - the choice of color etc. is personal pref really isn't it? There wasn't a spec of dust, dirt or water spot to be found anywhere. For fun I looked - underneath, bilge, bunks, cubbies everywhere. I wanted so bad to be able to find something - anything to antagonize but my guy was at least one step ahead of me dammit. Guess I didn't learn anything from the "It’s the wrong color attempt" - see other post.
The girth of this thing surprised me. The H210 really caught me off guard for a 21' - the largest I saw at out
local FW
retailer (now is appropriate to use the word retailer) was the H200 so I figured the 210 would just be a little longer but its surprising how much difference a few inches in each direction can make (insert that’s what she said joke here)
The closed loop cooling was completed and tested and the engine & engine room re-detailed to factory - man that space is tight. Factory locations for things like the flush and stern light had been customed to accommodate the exchanger and such. Details . . . nice.
I really loved a part that was used a few years back but dropped from the factory (guess no-one else noticed or cared for that matter). My guy knew what I was talking about and somehow got the factory to dig out dusty parts shelves to find a left over - the factory agreed to install at a minimal up-charge

. Unfortunately things did not work out as the assembly was damaged. I was bummed

. Then fortune came my way and my dealer still had an H200 in stock with another copy of the same. My guy’s dad (owner) actually switched it out himself the night before I arrived to make me happy and it's not a small job - who does that?

Especially as busy as they are - my guy logged 70 something hours last week! I won't say what they swapped but here is a pic. Let’s see if anyone notices something a little out of the ordinary.

We spent prob close to 2 hours going over everything then made a splash. My guy brought us out and went over operational stuff some more and I took the helm. Can't explain it but I found it intimidating as he!!.

It ran flawless, sounded awesome (and yes I love the captains call both on and off) and cut through wakes like they were not there; but the unfamiliarity with the boat and lake plus the probability of me doing something stupid had me skittish. We didn't spend too long on the water - exhausted from the trip - but it was a total blast. love this boat! Below a pic of after my guy loading her back up. Power loaded by the way. Perfectly and literally in 2 minutes it was on the trailer and out of the water. He did it with one arm tied behind his back - seriously it's in a sling! Pretty impressive to see a pro at work. Just stay out of their way or you'll just slow 'em down kind of thing.

OK, so we did the paper work - took only minutes and I loaded up my heavily discounted goodies. I got bunch of cool stuff - Spare Prop, Impeller, Service Manuals, Mooring Whips, QL Air Heater and I copied CougarCruisers stereo so I got that too.
Decided to leave the boat for the weekend and head up to N Conway and asked for directions but my guy thought a better idea would be to yank the GPS out of his truck and lend it to us to tour around. Who does that? Those things are awesome but you need to be real careful on how you use them - more on that in a sec.
BHurley and M3 - thanks for the pointers. Meredith was unbelievable. Actually Laconia, the Whites Mountains, the whole lakes region and surrounding in general was absolutely amazing.
Fast forward past all the tourist stuff - Sunday evening came for the pick up so I could leave early Monday. It was all prepped for the trip, washed (again) and ready in their storage warehouse. I just arrive, hookup and leave - sooo easy and because my guy knew I was unsure of the easiest route to head home (I was leaving from further North than I arrived) he left his GPS with me to use - I could just Fed-Ex it back - who does that?

Would have been just the thing but since we did not verify the itinerary planned by the unit we ended up trailering a 26' boat/trailer with a 22' truck through some crazy @$$ places. The pic below is a cute little one lane bridge in Maine just after which turned into a cute one lane gravel drive and then into a less than one lane gravel path through the woods and up some pretty steep hills! And by steep I mean wheel hop and everything! Things were Cuban Missile Crisis kinda tense in the cab for a while - my wife and son just put on their IPods and turned them way up. It was defiantly an adventure! There were a few places I was unsure if I was getting my package between the trees! "Make - Next - Right - In - Quarter - Mile" . . . . my ar$e. Tower kit and covers held up well and were nicely camouflaged by the time we got back to asphalt again.

Anyway, for any other Canuks that had contemplated upgrading but dreaded traveling and importing. Run don't Walk. The exchange and discounts over the border is sooo advantageous right now and importation was laughable. We were there maybe 15 minutes. They never even looked in my truck or at the boat (that part is a hit or miss thing though). Even if you have to hire to transport back - man you can get soooo much more for your taxed to death loonie down there. Big thanks to Ryan, his Dad and the crew at Winnisquam Marine as well for the amazing deal, incredible service and second to none hospitality! Any of you who roll there kindly pass along a Rob says - LOVE IT!
