Hello everyone, I have just recently purchased a H200SS, and I am still curious as to what the Quick and Quiet thru hull exhaust is, and also what the Quick and Quiet thru hull (delete) is? If anyone could clarify me better on what those are that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adrian. |

Q&Q is an exhaust option (well, standard on the SS versions) that allows you to choose the routing of the exhaust via a switch at the helm, between through-hull (out the sides at the rear of the boat), or through the drive/prop (like a standard sterndrive exhaust. The "Q&Q Delete" is an option to not have Q&Q, and just have the normal through-drive exhaust. Directing the exhaust through the hull is very loud; directing it through the drive where much of it is muffled by the water is much quieter. Q&Q sounds cool if you like loud engines etc. It will not give your boat any noticeable performance gains with a small block engine. It can turn into a maintenance item down the road, since it has electrically operated dampers inside the exhaust pipes. Also note that when switched to "quiet," they typically aren't completely quiet - you still get a bit of "rattle" through the dampers. |

Click on my link, and there is a short vid with the exhaust "open". Listen to that, and see if that's what you want. I just leave mine open all the time. I may even hard-wire it that way... It's the closest thing I've gotten to sex in a while! |

Yes, I like the way that sounds its like a reasonably loud noise that is not to much sounds great. So with this Quick and Quiet "Delete" that means that there is no exhaust pipes coming out the side of the boat just ones that go through the prop/drive, correct? |

Complete and total guy toy I think. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have them when I get a big enough boat. I prefere the quiet when your moving fast on the water but nothing says power like the low roar going into a marina like the Q&Q. |

Alright thanks for all your input guys. I just purchased a Jet Black 2008 H200SS. 5.0L Bravo 1 DTS (260HP) V8 with all the available options. I can't wait to get it n go cruising. One more thing I was wondering is the difference between the Bravo and Alpha leg and if this will makes a difference in acceleration or handling or top speed?? |

I test drove a nearly identical set up in an Ebbtide while shopping. I wasn't impressed with the 5.0 one bit. This one had the Alpha I drive, but the gear ratio was almost identical to that on my BI. Top end was alright, but hole shot, and slow speed performance wasn't too impressive. However, if you've already test driven and are happy, then disregard my comments. |

Sorry Pics will be up on Friday night as the boat is being shipped to my house on Friday. And to Walt : I haven't test drove the boat before which might've been a mistake but I have driven a slightly heavier boat with the same engine and an alpha leg and it seemed to be alright. And are you sure the Ebbtide will handle the exact same as the 200SS?? |
