Okay I have l read lots, listened a lot, asked questions even prayed about it. Last Thursday I finally did it , I signed on the line for a new H180 3.0 merc, red with matching bimini and bow cover. The expected delivery is sometime in November,(something about having to build it, then ship it half way round the planet) for the long lead time. Any way the Admiral, the crew and I are really excited about it, needless to say I will post some photos when it arrives, but for now its back to counting sleeps. Lets see thats 20 weeks times by 7 days in a week ,thats 140 sleeps give or take a few

Sweet. How much season will you have left upon delivery?

The dealer explained that whenever they order a Four Winns boat they always tell the customer that it will take 5 months for delivery. The reason is, that is the longest time they expect, and if it comes in earlier the customer is happy. As for the season here in Australia, November is just coming into our Summer. Normally I waterski from the first weekend in October till the end of April. As for boating here in Oz,and especially where I use the boat( Morgan on the River Murray South Australia) there is not one single day of the year that the weather is so bad that I could not safely use the boat. As for winterizing the boat, it is unheard of here. In the middle of winter at Morgan it is not uncommon to get sunny days with temps around 65 to 70 degrees. The average rainfall for the area is around 8 inches a year.So in answer to your question boating can be enjoyable year round.
Having said all that the Admiral and I and the crew are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new H180 ,So I am relying on you fine people here to keep me distracted with topics and threads while I patiently??? wait

I actually still have a boat (15 foot aluminum runabout 70 hp Johnson) ready to go when ever I want. However it is winter here, and although the weather is often just gorgeous at Morgan in winter, we find slipping the canoe in the water for a quiet paddle is pretty relaxing not to mention cheaper on the hip pocket.BUT having said all that if the new H180 was to arrive well that is a different story. I look forward to sharing some photos of the new boat and the surrounding area where we boat .
