yep, i bet it is, what are you doing in the UK? work or holiday. Either way i am sure it is worth wearing a jacket for... It hit 29.9 degrees today, it doesn't seem hot but when wearing long sleeve shirt and trousers i can tell you it develops a sweat. we should hit mid 40's in a few weeks out west (i work out west a bit during the week)

Unfortunately is work Jackal... cold frosty nights here but the days are clear and sunny - actually quite pleasant - feels like Melbourne!

Hi Beyond, the weather here has been very kind (thanks for organising this for me! ). I hope it lasts another few days until I leave, but does not look promising...

Taa daah... Finally made it home on Saturday - a beautiful day but too tired to get the boat out. Took it out yesterday (Sunday) - weather was very ordinary with a 1 metre swell in the bay. Launched at Newport and went across the bay to Port Melbourne but too choppy, so instead cruised up the Yarra River for the morning. Was going to take some pics but left the camera in the car..

So I've had my boat fix for now... :D Will be out next during Cup Week (1st week in November) as I am on vacation all that week.

I am not sure what you do but you are always on holidays!!! :D I got my boat last week, i took it out for a quick run but Bathurst over ruled on Sunday, I had a bigger fix this weekend just gone. I love it. I have to get used to a few of the different driving styles coming from the skiboat. I am not lacking any top end, i gave it a bit of a squirt and hit 57MPH with the Bimi cover (AKA parachute) open. I havent checked any pics yet but i will get some for you all. The wake is better than i thought for boarding as well so thumbs up there :D , i am however going to need another 4 blade prop for skiing. I can get up on a single but with a bit of a struggle, we want to get 2 skiers out on singles at least so i was thinking a 17" pitch 4 blade. I will talk to solas for a few ideas but i am going to look at one of the cheap prop sites from the US, not sure how much of a saving there will be at the moment.

I wish Jackal... had too much leave accumulated so have to get it back down to 4 weeks - the bean counters don't like people accumulating as much as I did.

57mph = WOW! I got to 50 even an thought that was pretty good... I tried a 4 blade Volvo prop on mine 21" pitch and it pulled really good but lost about 10 mph at the top end - cost me $520 from Volvo here in Oz  - I buy all my props from the US now and save heaps! My favourite place is http://www.getaprop.com/. Good prices and great delivery.

The 57 is on the speedo, just got the gps working last night, I here you on the Getaprop site. I ended up biting the bullet and getting a Solas today from the sunshine coast, $850.00 aud delivered with bushes all fitted etc. they said that if i am not happy with the performance either way to send it back and they will keep modifying it until we get it sweet. The current prop is a 19" 3 blade, the new one will be a 17" 4 blade so top end loss is expected but i really want better bottom end for the skiing and boarding. If nessersary i will change back to the 3 blade for going cruising. (the solas guys dont think i will have too) 21" seems a lot, there must be something to do with the diameter being smaller. I know that i will be able to let you know what the difference is on the week end.

Hmmm, what diameter is your prop Jackal? Is yours a duo prop unit? Mine is a single prop and 14.25" diameter. The last 2 genuine Volvo props I brought from the US cost me around A$200 each and are a doddle to fit (read 10 minutes max)... I now own a good range of props to cover most requirements!!

I will have to take a look and let you know, i am very keen to monitor the effected change. I am also keen to try the prop thing from the US even though i hope i dont have to for some time. Next time i will be a little more patient and order one from over there. hopefully the $ will be a bit better.

Back on the care of the gel coat, i bought some flash stuff of Mcguires some superx flash name used on show cars the other day, i usually use use cleaner wax from mcguires and i must say the new stuff is rubbish, as you know my boat is almost new and it did not even remove the slightest of watermarks. i used the cleaner wax and it came up perfect. interesting isnt it??? I think the show car stuff is aimed at cars that are already perfect and do nto require a cleaning component. The cleaning wax is very gentle and makes it look better than new!!!

I agree that McGuires is the best. I think a lot of the fancy show stuff is simply a silicon wipe on shine type product. If you want good results then you really need to go for the more 'traditonal' McGuires products as you said. I have friends who specialise in car restorations and swear by McGuires and have been using it for 30+ years - since before it was popular! Someone was asking on another thread about cleaning perspex windows - well McGuires make products especially for that purpose and sell to the military for cleaning helicopter bubbles. So their products sure seem to work!

Relax Ardy - I've not waxed my boat yet. One advantage of it being garaged all the time rather than being outside. Would much prefer to be out on the water all the time though!

Has your 180 turned up yet Ardy? Can't be far away now... how many more sleeps? :D

About 15 to 20 sleeps to go .The scary thing is that all of my weekends until December are booked up. I might have to boat like Mike230 does (sit in the boat in the drive way) but hopefully it won't come to that hhehehehe
