Ok I know I gotta loose 20-25lbs I'm 6'2" 238-242lbs.So I'm cruising in the wake zone today on the flip up bolster I hit a HUGE wake, too late to adjust for it. Crash down from it & snap the plastic out side of the bolster also knocked the swivel cable out of the base   . So tomorrow I'm gonna take the seat apart. Can I get a new bolster only & will it be covered by warranty? Didn't look into it that much, but it looks like I can take out 4 screws holding seat to pedestal, anyone have a seat like this apart. Also the cable that allows you to adjust seat fore/aft isn't hard mounted to the bracket. It has threaded end & jam nut but it's just using the spring press. to hold it in place. Is this common?Other then that it was a great day on the lake

Whoa! Never heard of that... I have bolster seats as well. Any recommendations on maintenance which would have PREVENTED this??

One don't weigh 240lbs, yes about 20-25 is extra mid section  Two don't hit huge wakes when on the bolster up righted. I found out after I took the whole seat apart that all you have to do is pull out on the black plastic knob facing fwd under the seat & you can pick the whole seat W.bottom attached off the pedestal mount. Then all you have to do is remove 3 screws holding seat bottom on, then just pull on the bolster PLASTIC side mounts to remove from seat sides. Only 2 screws hold the PLASTIC bracket to the bolster cushion. I'm gonna order that piece tomorrow. I am gonna let FW customer service know that NEITHER of the 2 cable threaded ends were properly adjusted or even ATTACHED by the jam nuts. The jam nuts were just jammed agaisnt each other allowing the cable ends to float & the pivot one came out completely. I had to majorly shim the fore/aft cable end to get it to work properly once I attached the end the way it was supposed to be. Also found the UN-OPENED/SEALED in plastic bag installation instruction stuffed in the pedestal base. At least I know how the whole seat mechanism works now & any future problems will be alot easier to deal with.

I also found the instructions in my pedestal. Looks like that is the way they put them together and deliberately leave the instructions there for you to find if you ever have to pull them apart - not a bad idea actually!

Yeah but they were actually for a different model & the basic installation & not for disassembling & reassembling

FW emailed me today & will send a whole new bolster to my house free no question asked! I replied that if they want to just send the plastic piece that broke would be fine.

KSJ - I think it was just a "perfect hit" if you will. I'm 6'8" 270, I know I also need to loose a few, and so far my flip-up bolster hasn't crapped out on me. I must say that if I do encounter much chop at all, I'm back down in the seat, prolly lucky for my bolster.

My whole seat feels loose. Kinda wiggles around. Anyone elses?

Not the whole seat, but the bolster wants to drop down when I hit a little chop. Do they make a seat post that will extend to bolster height and drop back down to match adjacent seat height?

They didn't even want the original one back. So I took off the the other good plastic arm & put towel under it to protect the seat & I can sit on it in all kinds of wakes plus I still can use the flip up when just cruising :)
