What is the max rpm on the 5.7 Volvo with 280hp? Its an 06 model 220

I only saw the 280 hp 5.7 in the 2006 fast facts and it stated max RPMs to be 4600-5000.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just assume its 4600 and listen close to the motor. It was pushing 5000 and I had to back it down to keep from going over. Running g about 42-45mph. I'm guessing I need a new prop. My factory 19 is chewed up pretty good. I heard a 17 pitch 4 blade is the ticket. I'd really like to run 50 and have a good hole shot.

I am still new here but I don't think going to a 4 blade 17 pitch is going to help you with top speed. It will help with the hole shot but I think your top end would be lower. Maybe someone else can chime in?

If you have the VP5.7Gi with 280 HP, the fast facts sheet says it came with a stainless steel 3 blade prop size 14 3/4 x 19 and had a top speed of 47-50. The GXi 5.7 has 320 HP, the same prop but a top speed of 49-52.
