Ok, so this happened when I tried to throw the boat in reverse and it hasn't been the same ever since...
The throttle lever has come out of place and wont stick back in...when it comes out it moves towards you (sitting in the captains seat) and then it loses all grip...it can be pushed back in and it holds, but it comes back out very easily...
is there any way to get the throttle to stick back in place?

It's a while since I took the lever off mine. I vaguely remember the centre cover ( the one that covers the gear disconnect button) has to be removed and the lever can then be removed; on reassembly, that cover is then snapped into place, it could be that the cover acts as the retainer for the lever and when you're putting it all back as one unit, it can't do it's job. The installation manual states no more than to refit the lever and clip the cover into place.

I'll have a look next time I'm down at the marina, with the weather promised here, that could be a couple of weeks I'm afraid!

I am guessing that by now you have this fixed, but I had the same problem and figured I would update this post with how to fix it.

How to Fix:
If you remove the Neutral switch from the throttle, there is an 11/16" bolt that holds the throttle arm on. This bolt simply came loose. However, when I tightened it back up, the throttle arm would barely move. This was because the mechanism that the throttle arm attaches to (and moves) was positioned to where the boat was in gear. In order to put the arm back on properly, that mechanism needs to be rotated until the boat is in neutral. You can tell the boat is in neutral when the prop can be spun in both directions. Once I got it to the neutral position, I reattached the throttle arm back into the mechanism with it positioned straight up and it started acting correctly. It moved freely and it went into forward, reverse, and neutral. I have had it out a few times since the fix and it is working great!
