so i'm getting my 70 hour service done in a week. I was wondering, do you guys know if I need to change my oil again before I put it away this winter? I am thinking I might put another 20 on it before season ends. Also the dealer is charging around $300 for this service and i'm not sure if that sounds fair or not. The engine is a 5.0L carb /sx By the way, I love this four winns.

I would not put a boat up for the winter without changing the oil.

I would wait and make it a 90 hour service.

another thing I was thinking was since I live in SoCal I can use it at least 1 time a month to have it running and never put it away for winter. Winters here are not very long at all. Would that idea work out?
next year I will plan using my hours a lot better that way I'm not doing 3 oil changes a year. Those service cost are getting pretty expensive.

When you say "Put it away for winter" do you mean winterize? You should not have to winterize your boat in our mild climate. We are not subject to freezing temperatures. Perform your maintenance as required and keep your boat ready for our warm fall and winter weekends.

when I said put it away for winter, I meant let it sit for a couple months max without using it. What you are saying sounds good to me though. Thanks for the advice.

Sitting for months with water in the block is not good in any climate. But I wouldnt do anything other then pulling the drian plugs.
