I recently purchased a 97 horizon rx 18'. I am not sure what a button is for inside the cockpit on the drivers side down below the throttle. It has a triangle with a light bulb inside it. It is all black and has a small button to push in. Does anyone happen to know what this is for?. I recently replaced my battery and now the boat will not start. All the guages get power and the rpms shoot up when i turn the key. But the motor will not crank over. It sounds as if its trying to start but it does nothing.

Could it be the safety switch? There should be a safety lanyard that clips on a switch with a button in the middle. If the button isn't pushed in the engine will not start. If the lanyard is missing try holding the button in and cranking the engine.
